As a social enterprise KHUDDI has a proven track record of implementing various projects in Public Health and Education, supported by international organisations such as WHO, EMPHNET, and CDC. Khuddi's blend of expertise, local knowledge, partnerships, innovation, commitment to strengthening public systems and effective financial management strategies makes us a strong proponent for international organisations seeking a reliable implementing partner for substantive results.
Khuddi R&D brings over 25 years of public health leadership to its work, guided by Dr. Poonam Durdana (MBBS, MPH), a seasoned expert with extensive experience at WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA, USAID, and other global health platforms. Our core team includes national and international specialists in epidemiology, maternal and neonatal health, health systems strengthening, health promotion, and policy analysis.
This strong technical foundation enables us to design and implement evidence-based, context-specific interventions that respond effectively to Pakistan evolving public health needs. Whether advancing maternal and newborn health under the EWENE framework or delivering grassroots health education in marginalised communities, Khuddi R&D ensures that every intervention is rooted in data, local relevance, and global best practices.
Khuddi R&D has built strategic partnerships with key government agencies, NGOs, academic institutions, and CSOs to drive sustainable public health outcomes across Pakistan. We hold formal Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the Departments of Health in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, enabling collaborative work on maternal and neonatal health, health systems strengthening, and front line workforce development.
In addition to working closely with the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination (M/o NHSR&C) for our projects, Khuddi R&D has partnered with Provincial Health Services Academy (PHSA), and a network of community midwifery schools and reputable Universities to ensure alignment with national priorities and local needs.
With a strong grasp of Pakistan’s socio-cultural and health system landscape, Khuddi R&D designs context-specific interventions that are both relevant and sustainable. Our work is rooted in community engagement and informed by a deep understanding of local realities, including cultural practices, gender dynamics, socioeconomic barriers, and service delivery gaps.
Whether working in remote districts of KP and Balochistan like Karak, Swat, Killa Abdullah or urban slums of Islamabad, our team ensures that all programs are culturally responsive, locally accepted, and aligned with community priorities. By embedding behavioural and contextual insights into intervention design, we increase uptake, ownership, and long-term impact.
At KHUDDI R&D we utilise dynamic, real-time monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems that track key indicators. Our systems prioritise community engagement through digital and direct field supervision to track key public health indicators in accordance with global frameworks such as IASC for MHPSS and EWENE for MNCH.
This hands-on, collaborative model not only ensures cost-effective implementation but also builds local capacity and strengthens health system accountability from the ground up.
We collaborate closely with local health departments—particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan—to co-design data collection tools, ensure accurate reporting from the ground, and use findings to inform quarterly review meetings, field debriefs, and policy briefs. This ensures that data-driven interventions are not only contextually relevant but also cost-effective.
Khuddi R&D has a demonstrable track record of successfully designing and implementing public health projects funded by globally recognised institutions, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, and the Global Health Development (GHD) | EMPHNET. Our work spans national and provincial levels, with a focus on strengthening health systems, improving MNCH and MHPSS outcomes, and supporting emergency response and resilience-building efforts.
Over the past five years, Khuddi R&D has trained more than 1,200 healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and community midwives, through capacity-building programs tailored to the needs of undeserved districts across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Sindh. Our technical assistance has supported the development and roll out of critical global policy frameworks, such as protocols and guidelines for lactating mothers with Ebola Virus, and MNCH acceleration plans aligned with EPMM and ENAP strategies.
