During my professional engagements, I have acquired relevant proficiency regarding UN humanitarian response in acute emergencies and post-emergency settings. displacement and migration/repatriation issues. I am also privileged to possess diversified experience of developing immunization and RMNCAH programs/projects and linking it up with gender sensitive, women empowerment and livelihoods.
Presently, serving as the CEO of Khuddi Research and Development Pakistan and Co-Chair MNH subgroup IAWG RH in Crises. The relevant key achievements in my professional career are as follows:
Leadership & Partnerships:
▪ Lead the UNICEF health emergency response in Yolanda Typhoon Philippines, Earthquake 2005 Pakistan, UNHCR humanitarian response in Afghan refugee influx 1999.
▪ Established Reproductive Health Initiative for Youth in South Asia (RHIYA) Technical working group for advocacy and policy dialogue for youth interventions with Govt. and implementing partners.
▪ Established the provincial MNCH and ARH steering committee in Iloilo and Capiz Provinces, Region 6, Philippines to comprehend exceptionally intricate policy challenges and can recommend innovative and outcome-oriented policy guidance and support.
▪ Demonstrated proficiency in project management encompassing planning, execution, and oversight, with a proven track record of successful project delivery, (acknowledgement letter of DoH attached herewith, for reference), within specified timelines and resource constraints.
▪ Formed strategic partnerships and successfully facilitated the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with provincial Departments of Health, academic institutions, and think tanks. (letter of partnership attached herewith, for reference).
Project Management:
▪ Developed & achieved signing of reproductive, maternal and child health, nutrition & social mobilization annual work plans and polio campaign budgets with Govt. counterparts and UN implementing partners.
▪ Achieved Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) implementation in camps during Afghan refugee crisis Pakistan, 2005 earthquake Pakistan, IDPs during flash flood, FATA evacuation operation and Yolanda Typhoon, Philippines.
▪ Monitored program and projects against gender sensitive SMART indicators and performance monitoring tracking system.
▪ Proficient with knowledge management system for promotion, visibility and information sharing of organization’s objectives and mandate.
▪ Prepared gender-sensitive budgets, financial reports, quarterly, annual and donor reports.
Policy and Advocacy:
▪ Developed policy briefs by generating evidence-based analysis to strengthen the credibility of the proposed policy actions. (most recent policy brief attached herewith, for reference).
▪ Promoted evidence-based decision making for advocacy by facilitating evaluations, KAP survey, FGDs, key informant interviews and trend analysis.
▪ Conducted literature review, developed advocacy guidelines, policy recommendations regarding:
o RMNCH best practices and stakeholder analysis.
o Oxygen therapy readiness and MNH indicators.
o Existing newborn training curricula.
o Socio-economic & cultural barriers (SCEB) for seeking SRH health care.
o Use of Tab. Misoprostol as post-abortive care in community settings.
Competency based assessments:
1. Conducted RH training needs assessment in Pakistan and Philippines.
2. Conducted baseline and endline assessment for oxygen therapy readiness to prevent maternal and newborn morbidity and mortality in Pakistan.
3. Conducted evaluation of CMW competency-based skills.
Developed various instruments (KIIS, FGDs) for policy makers, stakeholders, public sector hospitals managers and administration, health care providers, front-line health workers and caregivers during all the assessments.
My diversified work experience with UN during acute emergency and post-emergency settings (refugees, IDPs, floods, earthquake, typhoon & war conflict), being well versed with advocacy, partnerships, research, project innovation, donor coordination and report writing serves as an asset to perform the assignment. Moreover, my excellent inter-personal communication skills will be a value added to my professional abilities and competencies.
